How to Set Up an Economy System on Your Minecraft Server (EssentialsX and Vault)

1. Download VaultUnlocked and EssentialsX

Note: Make sure to match your Server Version and Platform.

2. Log In to Your Panel


3. Select the ‘Files‘ Tab

4. Select the ‘Plugins‘ Folder

5. Upload VaultUnlocked and EssentialX Into the ‘Plugins‘ Folder

6. Restart Your Server


7. Check Your Balance In-Game

Once the server is running, the economy is immediately active! Open your game chat and type /balance (or /bal). The server will display your current account balance, which defaults to $0 for new players. (Make sure you are the server Operator!)

Note: If you want regular, non-admin players to use /balance, you will need to install a permissions plugin like LuckPerms. Once installed, type the following commands in your console to grant your default players access to their balances and the ability to pay each other:

/lp group default permission set essentials.pay true

/lp group default permission set essentials.balance true

8. Give Players Money

As an admin, you have the power to print money and manage player accounts. To give a player starting funds, type /eco give [PlayerName] [Amount].

For example, typing /eco give Notch 500 will instantly deposit $500 into Notch’s bank account

9. Essential Economy Commands

/balanceDisplays your current money balance
/baltopDisplays the server’s “billionaire leaderboard” (the wealthiest players on the server)
/pay [player] [amount]Safely transfers money from your account to another player’s account
/eco give [player] [amount](Admin) Prints money and gives it to a player
/eco take [player] [amount](Admin) Forcibly removes money from a player’s account
/eco set [player] [amount](Admin) Sets a player’s exact balance, wiping out whatever they had before
