How to Enable or Disable Manual Spawn Selection on Your Palworld Server

Note:

By default, new players on a Palworld server are often dropped at a random “Plateau of Beginnings” location. However, if you want your community to be able to choose their starting point—perhaps to meet up with friends or avoid high-traffic areas—you need to enable the bIsStartLocationSelectByMap setting. This allows players to see the island map and pick a specific spawn point when they create a new character

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘PalWorldSettings.ini’ File

Navigate to:

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

5. Locate the Setting

Tip: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find the required setting inside PalWorldSettings.ini

Search for bIsStartLocationSelectByMap=

Setting Name	Recommended Value	Effect
bIsStartLocationSelectByMap	True	Manual Selection. New players can pick their starting island from the world map.
bIsStartLocationSelectByMap	False	Random Spawn. The server automatically assigns a starting location to the player.
