How to Install MetaMod on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

1. Download SourceMod Files

Note: Download the Linux Version

2. Generate and Download the VDF File

Select Left 4 Dead 2 from the “Game” drop-down menu, then click the Generate metamod.vdf button and save the file to your computer.

3. Log In to Your Panel


4. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

5. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

6. Upload the ‘MetaMod.tar.gz‘ File

7. Unarchive the Uploaded File

Once uploaded, click the three dots next to the file in your web panel and select Unarchive (or Extract). This will automatically merge the addons folder into your server

8. Select the ‘addons’ Folder

9. Upload Your Custom metamod.vdf File Inside the ‘addons’ Folder

10. Restart Your Server


11. Select the ‘Console’ Tab

12. Verify the Installation in the Console

Type meta version in your server console and press enter. If it spits out the current version of MetaMod, your server is completely ready for SourceMod
