How to Increase the Max Player Limit (8+ Players) on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

1. Download the L4DToolZ Plugin

2. Download the SuperVersus Plugin

Scroll down to the bottom of the post and click the Get Plugin link to download the superversus.smx file

3. Log In to Your Panel


4. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

5. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

6. Upload the L4DToolZ Into the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

7. Unarchive the L4DToolZ File

click the three dots next to it and select Unarchive. This will automatically place the extension files into the respective folders.

8. Select the ‘addons’ Folder


9. Select the ‘sourcemod’ Folder

9. Upload the SuperVersus Plugin Into the ‘plugins’ Folder

10. Go Back Inside the ‘left4dead2’ Folder and Select ‘cfg’ Folder

11. Select the ‘server.cfg‘ File

12. Add the Max Players Commands

Scroll to the very bottom of the file and paste the following two commands on new lines:

sv_maxplayers 8
(You can change the 8 to whatever maximum number of players you want!)

sv_removehumanlimit 1
(This stops the server from kicking extra players)

sv_force_unreserved 1

13. Select the ‘Save Content’ Button


14. Restart Your Server


15. Go Back Inside the ‘cfg’ Folder and Select ‘sourcemod’ Folder

16. Inside ‘sourcemod’ Folder Select ‘l4d_superversus.cfg‘ File

17. Tell SuperVersus to Spawn 8 Bots

Add this new line to the file:
l4d_survivor_limit “8”

(Note: Change the number 8 to how many players you want in your server)

18. Save the Changes


19. Restart Your Server
