How to Password Protect and Hide Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Note:

If you only want to play with your friends, leaving your server open to the public will result in random players constantly joining via Quick Match. You can easily lock your server down with a password

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Select the ‘cfg’ Folder

5. Select the ‘server.cfg‘ File

6. Add a Password

Paste the following command at the bottom of the file, replacing “secret” with whatever password you want to use. (Make sure to keep the quotation marks)

sv_password "secret"

7. Save the Changes

8. Restart Your Server
