How To Configure Asteroid Density on Your Space Engineers Server

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

The Cybrancee panel dashboard with an arrow pointing to the Files tab.

3. Select the ‘config’ Folder

The server file manager showing the config folder.

4. Select the ‘Saves’ Folder

The Saves folder highlighted in the server file manager.

5. Select the ‘World’ Folder

The World folder highlighted inside the Saves directory.

6. Inside the ‘World’ Folder, Select the ‘Sandbox_config.sbc‘ File

The Sandbox_config.sbc file highlighted in the world folder.

7. Adjust the Procedural Density Setting

Scroll through the file or use Ctrl + F to find the <ProceduralDensity> tag.

By default, this value is usually set to 0.35 (normal density). You can change this number to fit your server’s needs:

Lower Density (Better Performance): Change the value to 0.20 or 0.15 to space the asteroids further apart.

Higher Density (More Resources): Change the value to 0.50 or higher for dense asteroid fields.

No Procedural Asteroids: Change the value to 0.0 if you want a completely empty void (or if you only want custom-placed asteroids).

Carefully replace the number so the line looks something like this:

<ProceduralDensity>0.25</ProceduralDensity>

The ProceduralDensity setting highlighted in the Space Engineers Sandbox_config.sbc file, showing a value of 0.50

8. Save the Changes

9. Restart Your Server
