How to Adjust Recipe Costs on Your V Rising Server

Note:

The Recipe Cost Modifier controls how many resources are required to craft items from recipes on your V Rising server. The default value is 1.0. Lower values reduce the materials required for recipes, while higher values increase them.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

Scroll down the Sidebar until you find the Files Tab.

4. Locate the ‘ServerGameSettings.json’ File

Navigate to: VRisingServer_Data/StreamingAssets/Settings/ServerGameSettings.json

It should look like this:

5. Locate the Phrase Highlighted Below in the ‘ServerGameSettings.json’ File

Locate the "RecipeCostModifier” within the file.

6. Replace the Values of the Highlighted Phrase Below Accordingly

“0.25“: Reduces recipe costs by 75%, requiring only 25% of the normal amount of materials.

OR

“0.5“: Reduces recipe costs by 50%, requiring half the normal amount of materials.

OR

“0.75“: Reduces recipe costs by 25%, requiring 75% of the normal amount of materials.

“1.0“: Default recipe costs used in standard V Rising servers.

7. Check the JSON Formatting

Make sure the values are entered correctly and that the JSON formatting remains unchanged. Do not remove quotation marks, commas, or curly brackets when editing the setting.

8. Save the Newly Made Changes

Use the highlighted button to do so.

9. Restart Your Server and Game

10. Verify the Changes In-Game

Join your server and open a crafting station, such as the Loom, to check the resources required for a recipe.

For example:

0.25: A recipe normally requiring 100 materials will require 25 materials.

0.5: A recipe normally requiring 100 materials will require 50 materials.

0.75: A recipe normally requiring 100 materials will require 75 materials.

1.0: A recipe normally requiring 100 materials will still require 100 materials.

Check the material requirements shown in the crafting menu to confirm that the new Recipe Cost Modifier has been applied.
