How to Enable and Configure Auto-Save on Your Terraria Server

Note: Learning how to configure auto-save on your Terraria server ensures that all player progression, inventory changes, and world structures are routinely saved to disk, preventing unexpected data rollbacks.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Console’ Tab

From the left navigation menu, select the ‘Console’ tab to access your server dashboard.

3. Stop Your Server

Click the red ‘Stop’ button on the console dashboard and wait until your server status displays ‘Offline’.

4. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

From the left navigation menu, select the ‘Files’ tab to access your server’s root directory.

5. Open the serverconfig.txt File

Locate the serverconfig.txt file in the file list and click on it to open the configuration editor.

6. Configure the Auto-Save Parameter

Inside the file editor, locate the autosave parameter (or add autosave=1 on a new line) to ensure periodic automatic saving is enabled.

7. Save Your Changes

Click the purple ‘Save Content’ button in the top right of the file editor to save your auto-save configuration.

8. Return to the ‘Console’ Tab

From the left navigation menu, select the ‘Console’ tab to return to the server dashboard.

9. Start Your Server

Click the green ‘Start’ button to launch your Terraria server with auto-save enabled.
