How to Backup and Restore Your Project Zomboid Server

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Console’ Tab

3. Enter the save Command

This command will force a save of the current game progress.

After typing the command into the console, press the Enter key.

4. Select the ‘Backups’ Tab

5. Create a Backup

You do not need to turn off the server to create a backup. Select the ‘Create backup’ button.

Type a name for the backup, such as ‘world save’:

Optionally, you can ‘lock‘ the backup once it has been created to prevent anyone who shares access to the Panel with you from accidentally deleting it:

Finally, select the ‘Start backup‘ button located in the bottom right corner.

6. View the Backup You Have Created

After creating a backup, you can see it from the ‘Backups’ tab. You will see a list of the backups you have made:

7. Restore a Backup

Select the three-dot symbol located on the far right side of the backup you want to restore:

Select the ‘Restore‘ option.

A pop-up window will appear to confirm if you want to restore the backup. Optionally, you can choose to delete all files before restoring.

Select ‘Restore‘ to restore the backup:

8. Wait Until the Backup Restoration Process Is Complete

Depending on how large the backup is, the restoration time may vary.
