How to Change the Tick Rate on a Minecraft Server

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Console’ Tab

3. Grant Operator via (OP) Through the Panel

Enter the following command into the console using the input field: op username.

The username is the Minecraft player’s name. It is important to note that the player must be online when the command is executed.

4. Use the ‘gamerule’ Command In Game

The command format is: /gamerule randomTickSpeed [value]

Replace [value] with the number you want to set.

Java Edition: The default value is 3.

Bedrock Edition: The default value is 1.

To double the speed for farming:

Java: /gamerule randomTickSpeed 6

Bedrock: /gamerule randomTickSpeed 2

To make things grow almost instantly:

Try a high value like 100 or 500. Be extremely careful with very high values as they can cause significant server lag and make processes like fire spread uncontrollable.

To pause all random updates:

Set the value to 0. This will stop crops from growing, leaves from decaying, and so on.
