How to Upload Forge Modpacks to Your Minecraft Server

Use this guide to upload a Forge modpack’s dedicated-server files to your Cybrancee Minecraft server. The written steps complement the video below. Before you begin, check that your hosting plan has enough memory for the chosen pack.

1. Download the Modpack’s Server Pack

Download the server pack for the exact modpack version you want from its publisher. The server pack contains the files intended for a dedicated server. If the pack has no server download, follow the author’s server instructions rather than uploading a client-only export.

2. Back Up and Stop Your Server

Log in to your Cybrancee Panel. Create a backup, then stop the Minecraft server and wait until it is offline. Keep a copy of your current world if you intend to use it with the new pack.

3. Match the Minecraft and Forge Versions

In the panel’s Switch Loader tab, select Forge and install the Minecraft and Forge versions required by the modpack. Follow the pack author’s version requirements. Check the Java version using our Minecraft Java version guide.

4. Prepare the Server Files

Extract the downloaded server pack on your computer and read its README or installation instructions. If the pack requires an extra setup step, complete it as the author describes. Keep the server’s world backup separate from these files.

5. Upload the Modpack Files

Open the Files tab and upload the pack’s server files into the server root directory. Common folders include mods, config and defaultconfigs; upload the folders provided by your pack with their structure intact. For a large upload, use SFTP. If you upload an archive, unarchive it and check that the pack is not inside an extra wrapper folder.

6. Check the Startup Configuration

Make sure the server still uses the correct Forge loader and Java version. Some server packs require a specific launch script or startup configuration. Follow the pack’s instructions and contact Cybrancee support if its launch method is not available in your panel.

7. Start the Server and Check the Console

Start the server and allow its first launch to finish. Check the console for missing mods, incompatible versions or setup errors. If startup fails, stop the server and resolve the reported error before retrying.

8. Join With the Matching Client Modpack

Install the same modpack version on your computer, launch it and connect to your server. Players must use matching Minecraft, loader and mod versions. Keep your backup until you have confirmed the world loads and the pack works as expected.
