How To Set a Server Password on Your Palworld Server

Note:

One of the most common issues on a Palworld server is setting a password and then realizing there is no “Password” box when trying to connect via IP. If you want to keep your world private for just you and your friends, you must use the ServerPassword setting. However, because of a known interface bug in the game client, you’ll need to follow a specific “handshake” trick to actually enter that password and join your server.

1. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘PalWorldSettings.ini’ File

Navigate to:

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

5. Find the Variable

Tip: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find the required setting inside PalWorldSettings.ini

Search for ServerPassword and AdminPassword

Setting Name	Required Value	What it Fixes
ServerPassword	“YourPassword”	Blocks unauthorized players from joining your world.
AdminPassword	“AdminPass”	Separate. This is only for running commands once you are inside.
