How To Enable/Disable Character Decay on Your Palworld Server

Note:

While disabling this penalty is great for player retention, keep in mind that “abandoned” bases will no longer decay. On public servers, this can lead to players claiming prime real estate and never returning, forcing you to manually delete their structures to free up space for new players.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Stop Your Server

3. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

4. Open the ‘PalWorldSettings.ini’ File

Navigate to:

Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini

5. Toggle the Non-Login Penalty

Tip: Use Ctrl + F to quickly find the required setting inside PalWorldSettings.ini

Search for bEnableNonLoginPenalty,

FalseDisabledRecommended for private/casual servers. Bases stay safe forever.
TrueEnabledDefault; inactive players’ bases and Pals will suffer penalties over time.
