10. Scroll to the Bottom

As seen in the first screenshot, the top of this file is full of developer notes. Scroll all the way to the bottom until you see the line:

// --------DO NOT EDIT ABOVE THIS LINE--------

Scrolling down to the admin_colors section of the configuration file

11. Enter Your Steam ID

Look at the "admin_colors" block right below that line. Find the "STEAM_0:1:1234567890" placeholder and replace it with your actual Steam ID. Make sure you keep the quotation marks around it!

12. How the Configuration Work

Here is exactly what the rest of those variables do so you can customise your tag perfectly:

"Admins" / "VIP": Below your Steam ID, there are group blocks. If a player doesn’t have their specific Steam ID listed, but they have the Admin "flag" listed in this block (like the "z" root admin flag), they will get this group tag instead!

"tag": This is the actual text prefix that appears before your name. Make sure to leave a space inside the quotes after your tag (e.g., "[Owner] ") so it doesn’t squish into your username!

"tagcolor" / "namecolor" / "textcolor": These dictate the colour of the prefix, the username, and the actual message you type. In Left 4 Dead 2, {G} stands for Green, {T} stands for Team Colour, and {O} stands for olive.
