How To Let Survivors Drop Their Secondary Weapons Upon Death on Your Left 4 Dead 2 Server

Important!

You must have SourceMod and MetaMod installed on your server before following this guide. If you do not have them yet, check out our guides on installing them first.

1. Download the Drop Secondary Weapons on Death Plugin

2. Log In to Your Panel

3. Select the ‘left4dead2’ Folder

4. Select the ‘addons’ Folder

5. Select ‘sourcemod’ Folder

6. Select the ‘plugins’ Folder

7. Upload the Drop Secondary Weapon on Death Plugin Into the ‘plugins’ Folder

8. Restart Your Server

9. How the Plugin Works

The plugin runs automatically in the background. If a player holding a Magnum or a Fireaxe gets incapacitated and dies, their secondary weapon will physically drop onto the floor exactly where their body is. Any surviving teammate can then walk over and pick up that weapon to help them fight through the rest of the map. If the dead player is revived later with a defibrillator, they will need to run back to their death spot to retrieve their dropped weapon.
