How To Keep Your Inventory on Death in Conan Exiles

Note:

By default, dying means your character will drop every single item, weapon, and piece of armor they are carrying. While this adds a hardcore element to PvP servers, it can be incredibly frustrating for casual players or PvE communities who just want to explore without fear of losing hours of progress.

Fortunately, as a server administrator, you can completely disable this mechanic by adjusting a single line of text in your server’s configuration files!

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Select the ‘ConanSandbox’ Folder

---

4. Select the ‘Saved’ Folder

---

5. Select the ‘Config’ Folder

6. Select the ‘WindowsServer’ Folder

7. Select the ‘ServerSettings.ini‘ File

8. Change the Drop Equipment Variable

Scroll through the text file or use Ctrl + F to find the following line: DropEquipmentOnDeath=

To drop your inventory when you die (Vanilla Hardcore), ensure the line reads: DropEquipmentOnDeath=True

To keep your inventory when you die, ensure the line reads: DropEquipmentOnDeath=False

9. What If the Setting Is Missing?

If you search your file and cannot find DropEquipmentOnDeath, it simply means your server is running the default hidden values.

Scroll to the very bottom of the text file, hit Enter to create a new, empty line, and type the exact code below to manually apply the rule:

DropEquipmentOnDeath=False

10. Save the Changes
