How To Adjust the Local Chat Radius on Your Conan Exiles Server

1. Log In to Your Panel


2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

6. Select the ‘WindowsServer’ Folder

7. Select the ‘ServerSettings.ini‘ File

8. Adjust the Chat Radius

Look for the line that says ChatLocalRadius=2500 (or whatever your current number is). Increase the number to make the chat broadcast further, or decrease it to make the local chat area smaller.

Note: If this line does not exist, simply create a new line directly underneath the [ServerSettings] header and type ChatLocalRadius= followed by your chosen number.

9. Understand the Multiplier Logic

The number used for the chat radius is measured in in-game units, where 100 units roughly equals 1 meter in the game world. Here are a few examples to help you decide what number to use:

2500 (Default): Roughly 25 meters. Players need to be in the same general area or within a moderately sized building.

5000: Roughly 50 meters. Covers a much wider area, perfect for shouting across a sprawling base, courtyard, or marketplace.

1000: Roughly 10 meters. Players must be standing very close to each other, which is excellent for strict roleplay servers where private conversations happen.
