How To Change the Starting Season on Your Don’t Starve Together Server

Note:

World generation configuration files only take effect when a brand new world is being created. If you have an existing world on your server, you must either delete the 'save' folder or use a regeneration console command before this new starting season will apply.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Navigate to the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Locate the Master Directory

Path: Home > Container > DoNotStarveTogether > Config > Server > Master

4. Edit the World Generation Override File

Locate or create a file named 'worldgenoverride.lua' and select it to open the text editor.

5. Add the Starting Season Variable

Locate the overrides = { section within your configuration code. Add a new line for the starting season variable using your preferred season (e.g., season_start = "winter",). The valid options are "autumn", "winter", "spring", or "summer".

6. Save the File

Select 'Save Content' to apply your configuration changes.

7. Restart Your Server
