How To Configure Portal Migration Between Shards on Your Don’t Starve Together Server

Note:

For players to successfully travel through sinkholes or migration portals without being disconnected, the master shard and cave shard must be securely linked. This connection is established by assigning the correct local IP bindings and a shared cluster key.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Navigate to the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Locate the Cluster Configuration File

Path: Home > Container > DoNotStarveTogether > Config > Server

4. Select the ‘cluster.ini‘ File

5. Configure Shard Networking

Locate the [SHARD] section within the file. Verify that your networking variables are present and securely configured. If they are missing, paste the following standard local configuration underneath [SHARD]:

Change the cluster_key to a custom password of your choosing to prevent unauthorized shards from linking to your portal.

6. Save the Changes
