How to Fix the Getsockopt Error in Minecraft

1. Open Up ‘Windows Firewall’

On you computer, search for ‘Windows Defender Firewall’ and click Open.

2. Select ‘Allow an App or Feature Through Firewall’

Next, navigate to ‘Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall’.

3. Press Change Settings

To allow Minecraft through the firewall, we need to go ahead and click ‘Change Settings’.

4. Find ‘Minecraft’ and Tick Private and Public

Scroll down until you see ‘Minecraft for Windows’ and ‘Minecraft Launcher’ and ensure both Private and Public are ticked.

5. Find ‘javaw.exe’ and Tick Private and Public

Scroll down until you see ‘javaw.exe’ and ensure both Private and Public are ticked.

6. Hit OK and Exit

Press the OK button and then press the X in the top right corner to close ‘Windows Firewall’.

7. Relaunch Minecraft

Finally, relaunch Minecraft and you should be all set!
