How To Set the Server Intent (Cooperative, Competitive, Social, Madness) on Your Don’t Starve Together Server

Note:

Server intent defines the gameplay style and helps players find servers matching their preferred experience. It affects matchmaking and sets expectations for the server’s atmosphere and rules.

1. Log In to Your Panel

2. Select the ‘Files’ Tab

3. Open the cluster.ini File

Navigate to: /DoNotStarveTogether/config/server/

Then open: cluster.ini

4. Choose Your Server Intent

Cooperative Teamwork-focused. Players work together to survive:
cluster_intention = cooperative

Competitive PvP-focused. Players compete against each other:
cluster_intention = competitive

Social Casual, laid-back experience. No strict competition or cooperation: cluster_intention = social

Madness Chaotic and unpredictable. Anything goes:
cluster_intention = madness

5. Update the Server Intent Setting

6. Restart Your Server
